Hello

I'm Nixon Hanna, an AI safety generalist passionate about ensuring that AI goes well for all of humanity and mitigating catastrophic risk from advanced AI.

I'm currently the director of the AI Safety Fundamentals Fellowship run by MIT AI Alignment (MAIA) as well an executive board member for MAIA, in which I help make decisions on MAIA's mission, impact, and theory of change.

In terms of personal interests, I spend lots of time and energy on climbing, lifting, movies, reading, music (soul, jazz, hip-hop, r&b), physical media, philosophy, stationery, and many other things.

You can read more about my background and interests on the about page of this site, if you're interested.

Feel free to reach out for any reason; I'm always happy to chat with new people. You can also leave anonymous feedback for me on Admonymous.

This site…

was created largely for the purpose of starting a personal blog.

I believe writing about things is an incredibly effective way of developing one's own beliefs. Yet I rarely found myself writing about the things I care about before making this site.

So I started this blog to give myself a place to more often write about the things I'm thinking about.
